
Situated to the SE of the Province of Zaragoza. Reached from the capital via the N-232 trunk road, turning off onto the C-221 just east of Azaila and again 21 km from Caspe, in the Bajo Aragón, continuing along the C-221.
The "Most Illustrious, Noble and Loyal Town" of Maella belongs to the Bajo Aragón district (Lower Aragón). Located in the south east of the province of Zaragoza it is 120 kms from the regional capital. It is one of the most important towns in the legal jurisdiction of Caspe, 20 kms away.
The town occupies an area of 170 km², bordering on the provinces of Tarragona and Teruel; its boundaries are formed by the rivers Algars and Guadalope, while the river Matarraña crosses it from south to north.
