
With almost 1,000 hectares devoted to growing them and a yield of around 1,000 tonnes, this is the second most important crop from our members' non-irrigated lands, after olives.
Following the major renewal conducted in the varieties grown in recent years, replacing the varieties traditionally cultivated by Maella farmers, we now find young, up-to-date, competitive farms.
This is why a new plant was set up to receive and store the almonds, controlling the quality (moisture, yield) of the almonds brought in. Afterwards, they are cleaned and dried until they reach the right point of humidity and are stored in metal silos until they are sold.
